Freewheel Radio

Freewheel Radio was founded in Co.Sligo, Ireland in November 2018. The station broadcasts 24/7. 

Freewheel Radio is a non-profit venture and was founded by Kevin Morgan. Kevin studied radio in Ballyfermot College of Further Education, Dublin in the early noughties and went on to work in local radio with Midlands 103 for more than ten years. He has also worked with online radio stations "Klubb FM", "Radio Snowflake" and "Realcast Radio". 

The idea of Freewheel Radio was born when he was looking for an outlet for the abundence of music he has built up over the years. "Realcast Radio allowed me to choose whatever I wanted to play, with nobody looking over my shoulder". "When Realcast finished broadcasting, I wanted to continue playing the good tunes, and what better way than to have your own radio station!" 

Music and a love of radio are at the forefront of the venture. This radio station isn't here to pump out advertising or fill your ears with showbiz gossip. Decent tunes and some fun is the ethos we are operating under. 

The playlist consists mostly of alternative, indie, soul and rock music, but is not restricted to those genres.
