Seven Bridges Radio

Seven Bridges Radio has been set up as an online radio station with the aim of working with people from the community who have various mental health issues.

We are looking to help those who are struggling to find training or employment due to their mental health problems, whether it be depression, anxiety, autism etc.

All three of the directors have had or have their own struggles with mental health and we all understand the struggles of overcoming them to start a new job or placement for example. We plan to offer training in online media/radio, either on the microphone or behind the scenes, ideally to a nationally recognised qualification in conjunction with local colleges.

We intend to make the studio a relaxed and welcoming place for the volunteers to train and work, hopefully enabling them to gain these qualifications with a little less stress and worry. Once trained we will look to help them find employment within the industry, or even employ them ourselves where possible.

We have set up as a CIC (Community Interest Company) as we fully intend to plough any profits made back into the station, continuing to grow the project and to help more people as we grow.

Our initial plan is to launch from a studio in the Newcastle area, building a listenership and advertising local businesses as well as any mental health events in the region. We plan to play a mixture of music and talk shows, some of which will be based around various mental health issues, bringing in professionals from various fields to discuss all aspects of mental well-being.
